When performing on a grand piano, the sound created by the vibration of the strings reverberates throughout the entire body of the instrument, creating a powerful resonance that can be heard and felt by the pianist and audience. Yamaha creates this same effect with their Virtual Resonance Modeling technology (VRM). VRM synthesizes the reverberating relationships between the strings, dampers, soundboard, and piano rim for an authentic grand piano sound in the Clavinova. New with the CLP-700 series, VRM even produces the subtle sounds of dampers being lifted off the strings when the sustain pedal is depressed, adding even more detail to the rich piano sound.
Clavinova’s GrandTouch-S keyboard effectively replicates the feel of the keys on an acoustic grand piano. From smooth and swift to daring and mighty, the CLP735 responds intuitively to the slightest changes in touch. Synthetic ivory and ebony keys also prevent fingers from slipping off the keys due to perspiration, even during intense performance.
Utilizing the input received through the GrandTouch-S keyboard, Grand Expression Modeling accurately processes the pianist’s touch and transforms it into the proper output and tonal color intended. This allows emphasized melody lines to sing out more clearly over accompanying notes, and smooth arpeggio sections to weave together seamlessly.
Experience the power of the Clavinova’s Binaural Audio Sampling when playing with headphones. Using special microphones, the sound of every note on a grand is recorded using microphones that are placed at the position of the pianist’s ears to capture the most realistic sound possible. The rich piano sound is delivered so genuinely that the pianist may forget they are wearing headphones at all.
The CLP735 features an internal multi-track recorder, which will hold up to 250 16-track songs. Use this feature to record, store, and review your performances, and you can even download your songs onto a USB flash drive directly from the instrument itself!
Using the built-in USB port, you can connect your iOS device to the CLP735 and access the Smart Pianist app. Smart Pianist allows you to more easily navigate the functions on the Clavinova, such as the instrument voices, reverb settings, and more! It can even display your favorite sheet music.
