Grand Expression Modeling technology intricately captures the relationship between the movements of the hammers, strings, and dampers in an acoustic grand. By accurately responding to the speed, depth, and release of every touch of a key, Grand Expression Modeling allows even the most delicate of techniques to sing out just as the pianist intended. From a warm legato or a sharp stacatto to a deep and booming tremelo, every tonal color of the performance can be heard clearly.
The lastest GrandTouch-S keyboard action provides the pianist with total command over the sound of their performance through the touch of every finger. Synthetic ivory and ebony keys feel authentic to the touch and prevent fingers from slipping.
Escapement refers to the ability of the action on a grand piano to immediately move the hammer away quickly after striking the strings, which prevents any hinderances in the vibration of the strings and allows the sound to ring out without interruption. The Clavinova escapement mechanism is designed to recreate the same feeling of the escapement on an acoustic grand. This technology also allows rapid repetitions of keys (like those used during a trill) to be executed effectively and as expected by the pianist.
Yamaha samples the live sound of the CFX grand using Binaural Audio Sampling, which is featured on the CLP725. Binaural Audio Sampling is achieved by placing microphones in front of the piano in the same position the pianist would be sitting to achieve the most authentic grand piano sound. And when headphones are needed for convenient, disruption-free practice, there is no need to worry about sacrificing sound quality. The Binaural Audio Samping creates a fully immersive playing experience through headphones by providing a sound that still feels as though it is coming from the piano itself. The pianist may even forget they are wearing headphones altogether!
