Nelda Wittig has been a Certified Piano Sales Consultant with West Music since 1991 and in piano sales since 1979 which qualifies her as ‘getting elderly’—although she prefers the coined, affectionate term—‘getting Nelderly.’ She graduated with honors from college with a degree in Piano Tuning, Repair, and Refinishing. (Ask her how many parts are in a Steinway grand piano!) Knowing the inner workings of a piano helps her find the ‘just right’ piano for you and your family. She has attended classes and toured the Steinway and Yamaha factories to get a firsthand look at the building of a piano from the bottom up. She still attends continuing education classes to keep up-to-date on any changes.
Nelda started playing piano when she was five and remembers putting her head down on her Mom’s lap to rest during the thirty minutes! Now she likes to play piano duets with her daughters and they will also sing songs together in three-part harmony.
In her down time, she loves games, puzzles, and cards and has been known to get quite competitive while playing! She also enjoys scrapbooking, reading, and drinking a cup of coffee on the deck with her husband.
